We were pleased to have our room available for early check in (1 pm) as it was a rainy day. Check-in was fast, friendly and efficient. Breakfast choices were excellent although the buffet room often became crowded. Breakfast staff were efficient in removing plates, cleaning tables. We had appetizers and wine at the Noz Restaurant and the hummus and olive tapenade was excellent. Check-out early in the morning (4:30 am) was efficient and helpful. Amenities over New Years were excellent. The location is Old Town Funchal is near to many activities and sights.

Just back from 4 nights in this wonderful hotel. It is located right in the heart of Old Town Funchal, a block from the Cathedral, two blocks from the waterfront and near several great restaurants. Even though the hotel is in the middle of a pedestrian area, our room was very quiet. We had a junior suite and it was excellent value, with a large room, spacious walk-in shower, fluffy towels and bathroom amenities. Our rate included a full breakfast buffet, cooked-to-order eggs and pancakes. Staff was extremely helpful and courteous. There is also a nice restaurant for lunch and dinner with indoor and outdoor seating and a rooftop bar. I would definitely stay again at this property.

Best thing was that the hotel is really central but still quiet (at least in our room). Two issues though: first, there is no parking nearby. We were told to leave the car temporarily on the road leading up to the hotel for check-in/check-out. However, we almost got a ticket (or towed) by the police!!! There is parking in walking distance but with the luggage a pain to go due to the streets surface in the center. Secondly, the rooms were not cleaned as one would expect in a five star hotel. Breakfast is great but would be nice to have signs on the items with the allergens on them.

Das Hotel hat uns super gefallen. Das Personal war freundlich. An einem regnerischen Tag, konnten wir uns einen Regenschirm ausleihen. Die Vielfalt des Frühstücks war top! In unserer Dusche war die Dichtung des Duschkopfes defekt. Als wir an der Rezeption darauf hingewiesen haben, wurde dieser direkt ausgestauscht. Zu den einzelnen Zimmern und Etagen kommt man nur mittels einer Schlüsselkarte. Demenstprechend hat nicht jeder Gast Zugang zu den Wohnbereichen. Es gibt einen Pool auf dem Dach. Als wir gesehen haben, dass alle Liegen besetzt waren, sind wir in der Nähe des Hotels zu einem frei zugänglichen Schwimmbereich gegangen (4 min Fußweg entlang des Hafens). Alles in allem ist das Hotel weiterzuempfehlen! Die Lage ist im Zentrum Funchals.

Our stay of 2 nights was excellent. Staff was very helpful with any questions we had. We arrived early and they were accommodating to hold our luggages while we explored the area. The hotel is located at the heart of downtown a minute away from the famous colorful Madeira sign. Highly recommend this hotel.
